Day 01

Day 01

Head to the city of Negombo upon arrival. This coastal city is otherwise known as ‘Little Rome’ due to the amount of churches which are scattered around. Visit St. Mary’s Church, known for the splendid murals which depict the life of Christ. Or head to the coast to enjoy some time in the sun as you relax.

Day 02

Bid farewell to Negombo as you head towards the centre of the island. On this journey, you will make multiple stops at various locations. First, head to the Pinnawala Elephant Sanctuary. It is a place where wounded and orphaned elephants are taken in and cared for. The second stop of this journey is at Sigiriya, where you will be climbing the Sigiriya Rock Fortress. It is a formidable fortress which is known for its magnitude and splendour. See the frescoes adorning the walls of this rock as you make your way up. At the very top, you will be amazed by the sights that can be seen. After this thrilling excursion, make your way to the final location in Polonnaruwa. It is an ancient city which once acted as the second government of Sri Lanka in the eleventh and twelfth centuries. Visit ancient temples and kingdoms of ruin as you travel through here.

Day 03

Tour the city of Polonnaruwa. This city gained recognition during its time as a governing agent due to the major technological advancements which were procured. These based on the time period created various opportunities for progress. The city has a scattering of ruins of kingdoms and temples which have long surpassed their creators. Visit these locations to learn their history. Afterwards, make your way to Kandy.

Day 04

Kandy city is one that is filled with architectural beauty. With modern buildings surrounding this ageless city, it is a phenomenon. The Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy is a temple that is unlike any you have seen so far. It has a unique structure due to the purpose of its creation. Take a stroll around the river which is in the heart of the city as you take in the sights.

Day 05

On this day, head to Nuwara Eliya. It is a cool city in the hills of Sri Lanka. Visit the tea plantations which adorn the hillsides as you come across the tea pluckers delicately plucking the tea. Then head to a tea factory in which this tea is manufactured and try a fresh cup of tea. Head to Gregory Lake and enjoy a boat ride across the lake as you take in the stunning sights. Head back to Kandy to rest and turn in for the night.

Day 06

Bid farewell to Kandy as you head to the Southern Coast. Here you can see the sights of the Galle Dutch Fortress, and the Lighthouse and take in the beauty of the ocean. It is a fun-filled city with much to do and much to see.

Day 07

On the Southern Coast, there are many destinations to visit and activities to take part in. Firstly, visit the beach where you can spend some time surfing the waves or diving. If that is not your cup of tea, stroll the streets and come across various street foods. Try some delicious seafood or go shopping for souvenirs.

Day 08

Spend the day in relaxation by the sea taking on the finest activities that this country offers. Have some seafood for lunch and head out to town to visit the historic sights. Finally, head to Colombo. If you are feeling energized, head out and be entertained by the roaring nightlife of this city.

Day 09

Spend the morning shopping in Colombo and head to the airport to depart.
