On your first day in Sri Lanka, you will be picked up at the airport and taken directly to Sigirya. It is where the famous Sigiriya Rock Fortress is situated. Visit this testament of time that is an unbelievable sight to behold. As you journey to Sigiriya, make a stop at Dambulla to see the infamous Dambulla Cave Temples. The rocky walls of this cave network are decorated with murals of Lord Buddha, with multiple statues located in every corner.
On the morning of day two, head to the Sigiriya Rock. As you climb this magnificent fortress you will be in awe of the glorious frescoes adoring the walls. Reach the top where the monarch’s seat is located and take in the stunning views. Make your way to Kandy after this excursion. In this city, you will come across architecture, cuisine and religion. On the way, visit the Mathale Alu Viharaya, a temple to behold. After checking into your hotel, spend some time resting. Then in the evening set out to the city where you can see and enjoy a cultural dance.
Head to the Temple of the Tooth Relic in the early hours of the morning to get blessings. Enjoy the architecture of this fascinating location before heading out to explore Kandy City. Try some traditional cuisine or shop before returning to the hotel to pack and head back to Colombo. As you head back, make a stop at the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens to view and adore the beautiful sceneries. The flowers in bloom under tall trees with pollinators surrounding them.
Spend some time exploring the city of Colombo. It is filled with fascinating locations to stop, to see and to dine in. Then when the time comes, head to the airport to depart Sri Lanka.
